Launched FeedRiv On Product Hunt Today

I launched FeedRiv.com on Product Hunt today. This was my first time to launch on Product Hunt so I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't put a lot of effort into promoting the launch so I wasn't sure what to expect.

After a few hours, I had 23 upvotes which was a lot more than I anticipated (I was expecting 2 or 3 upvotes). However, the traffic to my website did not significantly increase. Right now I'm sitting at 30 votes with still a bit of the day to go.

I see why people enjoy doing product launches on PH (you get a lot of congratulatory comments and excitement from seeing your votes go up) but I'm not sure how much value it provides in the long run.

I do think it increases your visibility to others, so from that standpoint, I think it has been successful. Going forward, my plan is to continue to post on Product Hunt, but I won't be putting a lot of effort into the launches.

Kudos Anthony. In my case, I upvoted because I wanted to support but I don’t want an RSS feed reader. So maybe you should be thinking about how to capture that market specifically, rather than just people who want to SEE people who build in public, etc.

Thanks Zaid, I appreciate the support!

Initially I wasn't really planning to promote FeedRiv at all. In the past I've built tools for my own use. FeedRiv is one of those tools that I would have used to build for myself but decided to build it so it was open for others to use.

I'm still building out SellInPublic.com but I'm planning to post both it and MetricRiv.com on Product Hunt sometime in the future. I wanted to use the FeedRiv Product Hunt launch to get a feel for what to expect when doing a launch there.

I love it. Very inspiring watching you and building something of my own for my own use ⭐️
