Fidget
AI multi-modal video summarizer
Hey everyone! I’m the solo founder of Fidget. Today I published a deep-dive on "5 Advanced Ways Teams & Creators Use AI Video Summaries", covering:
Automated meeting minutes for remote teams
Creator workflows from live stream to social clip
Compliance & training summaries
Market research & competitive analysis
Accessibility & multilingual recaps
Each section includes real use cases (e.g. teams could cut research cycles by 50%). Check it out and let me know which use case would make the biggest impact for you:
Hey IH - just a quick one today about the power of testing and not "going with your gut."
Last week (June 17th) I ran an experiment changing the heading of the landing page at https://getfidget.pro/ from "Fidget: Intelligent Video Understanding" to "Save 8 Hours Every Week with Instant AI Video Summaries" to see how it would affect daily sign-ups. I was convinced that putting the benefit front-and-centre would lead to more conversions and users joining the waitlist. However, the stats said otherwise!
I went from around 4-5 daily sign-ups to zero(!) even though site traffic remained somewhat consistent before and after the change and having a huge weekend boost of site visits:

Even with the extra traffic, this led to zero sign-ups since June 19th (as of today, June 23rd) and none at all on 17th June (day of change, change happened in morning) and 18th June (day after the change):

And a big spike in bounce rate immediately following the change:

Obviously this was only a simple 5-day experiment, but my take on the data is that even though there was a slight drop in traffic after the change was made (which could explain the lack of sign ups), I would imagine the weekend boost would have led to at least some conversions! This along with the sudden increase in site bounce rate seems to point to the change of the site heading being the cause of the decline.
I just wanted to share because I was surprised at how impactful just changing the heading was and how even though I was convinced it would lead to more conversions, it actually led to a lot less! 😅
Always test your assumptions and don't be surprised if they don't turn out how you expect.
Have I missed anything? I'd love to hear if anyone has any more insights into the data!

Are you certain there were no bugs in your implementation? It seems more like an issue than a decrease. I don't think you could drop from 5 signups to 0 just by updating your homepage headline. Also, your screenshots look like Universal Analytics, not Google Analytics 4.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I thought the same thing yesterday. I tested by signing up myself via the website and checking the entry was created in the backend, which it was, so the implementation seemed fine for the period of the test. Of course, thats not to say there wasn't an issue with the website during the period of the drop, I should check the website logs actually - thanks for the insight! An alternative explanation is that I just got unlucky and nobody wanted to sign up for a while 😅
Re the UA/G4A, the screenshots are a mix of GA (first), Google Cloud (second) and Hotjar (third).
Thanks for comment, I'm glad to get another insight on the data.-

I have a feeling there might be a bug in your experiment implementation, analytics, traffic, or maybe even somewhere in between. I noticed you didn’t mention the experiment tool you’re using, so if you have a custom solution, it could be the source of the issue as well. I’d recommend giving VWO or Convert a try! If you’d like to chat more about this, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn!

Hey IH! I’m building Fidget, an AI tool that turns any long video into a bullet‑point recaps.
I just wanted to share some early results from our tests. On average, our beta users (who used Fidget for lectures) are cutting 6 hrs down to 30 min per lecture, while still feeling that they absorbed all of the same content.
👉 We wrote a post about it here, so feel free to read the full "5 Ways AI Summaries Save You Time" deep‑dive and see some more metrics: https://medium.com/p/3fa87d9fcfbe.
Also, join the waitlist here if you want early access and to shape the roadmap: https://getfidget.pro
What features would you like to see added to an AI video summarizer? I'd love to hear them!

Hey! Last week we published our tech deep-dive into how we're developing the Fidget multimodal pipeline (catch it here, in case you missed it) and since then we've had so many cool questions. We're taking time to respond to them but if you'd like to ask anything about the pipeline, we'd love to share!

Hey Indie Hackers!
We've written a blog detailing how we're building our API so you can see the pipeline in action, view code snippets, and learn how to integrate via a single API call. We'd love to get some of your valuable feedback!

Hey IH community! I’m the solo founder behind Fidget and I wanted to share why I started this project, how it works, and get your thoughts on our unique approach.
Why Fidget Exists
I’ve spent countless hours scrubbing through long tutorials, webinars and conference talks - searching for "that one bit" I really needed. In a world where AI can write essays or generate images in seconds, wasting time manually navigating videos felt like a waste. As a programmer that's written and worked with AI, I knew there had to be a better way, so I built Fidget to reclaim those lost hours.
What Makes Fidget Different
Most video summarizers today simply transcribe audio or grab on-screen text. Fidget goes beyond that with a few unique systems, which all combine into a "multimodal approach."
From refining early prototypes, I've nailed down the following unique selling points:
Audio Understanding: Going beyond raw text using sentiment analysis
Visual and Scene Cues: Performing visual analysis of the video's key frames to understand what's actually happening.
Context Windows: Group together clusters of audio and visual cues in a sliding-window approach to persist meaning based on most-recently encountered context.
Metadata Analysis: Instead of ignoring important information in the metadata, we use it to infer wider context that feeds into the "context window" system.
Flexible Input: Plan on supporting many different video sources e.g. YouTube URL, MP4 files, Zoom recordings etc...
API SaaS: Open up the core functionality and share via API.
Why Multimodal Matters
By combining audio, visual and even metadata, Fidget’s summaries are more "aware" of the content. It’s not just a transcript - it’s a smart distillation of what matters most.
I'd be happy going into the details with the results of some of my early prototype tests.
Where We’re Headed
Right now, Fidget is in active development. Early prototypes have been built (to test the concept) and I’m refining the multimodal engine, improving language coverage, and getting feedback on edge-cases (think: noisy audio, multiple speakers, dense technical slides etc...). If you’re interested in following Fidgets development, I’d love your feedback - and you’ll be front-of-the-line for the official launch later this year! (Summer 2025.)

Feedback Welcome!
Thanks for reading - I'm looking forward to showing you how Fidget develops!
About
I built Fidget because I was tired of losing hours to endless video scrubbing to find "that one part" or having to manually type out notes from interesting lectures or talks, so I decided to fix it.
