Surfaces buried high-engagement Reddit comments

July 1, 2026 Launched FIFI — and what building it solo taught me

FIFI is live and free on the Chrome store.

The itch that started it: on almost any Reddit thread, the top comment is just the safest, most upvoted thing. The part actually worth reading — the real back-and-forth, the buried gem — is usually five replies deep in a branch nobody scrolls to. I kept hunting for it by hand and got tired of it, so I built something that surfaces those buried high-engagement exchanges automatically.

The part I'm most proud of isn't the launch, it's how I built it. As a solo dev I was worried about the project sprawling, so I worked from a spec document I kept updating as I went. Ideas went back and forth constantly — I'd test an approach, it wouldn't feel right, revise the spec, try again. Lots of incremental changes and a lot of testing rather than any big leaps. Slow, but it kept the scope from exploding, which is the thing that usually kills solo projects.

Reddit's top comment is just the safest one. The good back-and-forth is buried replies deep where nobody looks. I built FIFI to surface those exchanges automatically — I was tired of digging for them by hand.
