Figura
Hire elite design talent on-demand
So the love and support was incredible and our tiny startup ranked #4 overall (link: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/figura). I am pretty sure we could get no. 1 if we did launch on weekends or something but launching on Tuesday is brutal. Our competition was with big VC-backed cos with heavy funding. Those who have launched it on PH before know exactly what I am talking about.
Huge credit goes to the co-founder of Figura, Denis, and the of course Jim (@d__raptis on Twitter) for hunting our product. Of course, it wouldn't be possible without 2 of them. >> Quick lesson: you don't always have to do stuff all alone. Find some good people who can help you accelerate and in return give them your best and always make sure that your startup comes first before your egos.
Yesterday got an email from Producthunt that our product has been featured in their newsletter. Was super happy about that. Of course, the traffic to our website was through the roof, and along with us, our roaster of designers was also happy.
Alright, so what's next? What happened after we got featured and got ranked? Did we get any leads? Talk business G. The answer is YES. We indeed got some good leads and we are looking forward to having them onboard. >> Quick lesson: Building in public is hard but fruitful. You get to meet so many amazing people and of course, it's good for the authenticity of your business and yourself.
Launching on PH was a good experience. Now we are doubling down on creating more content (blog and newsletter coming soon so make sure you are connected)
Our processes are becoming more efficient and we are def. seeing demand for this. Hiring a top-notch designer without a job post, without interviewing and no headaches with free talent replacement - isn't cool? >> Quick reminder here: Don't fall in love with your company/startup at the initial stages. Otherwise, it will be hard to pivot when/if needed. Don't make assumptions and make data-driven decisions totally based on logic.
Gotta go now. Meeting with clients soon so let you guys know how did it go... Enjoy your weekends!
π Hey IH fam! I hope everyone's doing well!
π¨ So after:
β’ a year of building
β’ 1,000+ vetted designers
β’ Tons of clients served
We are pumped that Figura launched on ProductHunt today πβ¨
An upvote and comment would go a long way π

I know today is a tough day to launch and win any position but hey! That's what daring people do. π
1st position looking tough but my co-founder Denis and PH hunter Jim Raptis
should push a good force there. If you see this post, do give an upvote.
Will post the results here in the comment after 24 hrs and any learnings from today's launch so maybe anyone can benefit from that in the future?... Would you want to know if we get any leads from today's launch?
Cheers! π₯ βοΈ

Interesting day today as we got a positive response from a tech startup (worth $100M+) wanting to use our services. We didn't do hard selling at this point and received a positive reply. Finding a balance in optimism is really hard sometimes.
Will write here about it once (and if) we hear back from them. Maybe. And oh, almost forgot. We booked a meeting with another fintech company so not too shabby, huh?
Really seeing Figura going to $1M by the end of next year or a total failure. No middle ground here.

Awesome job Samee.
Just for the record, I'm a big believer in nominative determinism - the notion that names have an odd power to be definitive of things. 'Figura' sounds like a billion-dollar company's name, so on that basis alone I'm going to play oracle and say that your success is assured ;)
Keep it up, hope your $100m connection becomes your first huge customer.

Yes so interacting with their content maybe and then sending a relevant DM just to see if and how they reply back and then move forward. I would like to add here that I sold 2 of my apps prev and got features on Microacquire as well so maybe some authenticity and good content also helps.

Good stuff! Can you share anything about the marketing method you used to get in front of the 100mm company?

No marketing applied on this one TBH. I took my time to just be "Internet friends" with the CEO of the company. Talked about their product and how it's changing the specific niche they are working on. Then casually asked if they are thinking of re-designing their product (didn't sell anything at this point too). He told me to send an email and now they are reviewing our offer. Sorry for the long comment but my point is it totally depends on the type of startup you are running. In my case, I can't just say hey buy this. We have to build a brand and gain trust for a long-term play. Cheers!

Good job!
I just wouldn't say that there was "no marketing applied"...I would lean towards calling it "1 to 1 marketing online" --- it's how biz used to happen offline for ages. Then people got lazy. Way to make the effort!

How do you go about starting that relationship? Do you just slide into their DMs on social - or friend through friend etc.?

π Hey, fam!
Me and my co-founder (@DenisJeliazkov) started Figura a few months ago now - been working under the radar. We have decided to go all in (from January 2023) and will try to record our journey on growing and bootstrapping our startup.
Currently, our GMV is about $60K in the past few months (it ain't much but it's honest work)
It's going to be hard.. but it's going to be totally worth it!
At Figura, we help you hire pre-vetted and elite product designers β‘οΈ
π Follow us along and see the world through our eyes β¨
