Hi everyone 👋
I recently launched Figuring Asphalt, a free online asphalt calculator designed to help homeowners, contractors, and property managers estimate asphalt quantity, tonnage, and project costs without complicated spreadsheets.
The idea came from seeing how difficult it was to find simple and reliable estimation tools. Most available calculators were either outdated or lacked practical guidance for real paving projects.
My goal isn't just to build another calculator. I want to create a resource that combines useful tools with educational content covering topics such as asphalt paving, driveway maintenance, repair methods, sealcoating, and project planning.
Current features include:
Asphalt tonnage calculator
Material estimation
Cost planning resources
Educational paving guides
I'm continuing to improve the calculator based on feedback and plan to add more estimation tools over time.

The mix of homeowners, contractors, and property managers caught my attention.
They may arrive at the same calculator, but potentially for very different reasons. That should make the feedback you get particularly interesting.
I like that you're not stopping at the calculator and are pairing it with practical paving guides. That's a much more useful direction than another barebones estimator.
Reading this I kept thinking it feels like the kind of project that could naturally be getting a lot more organic traffic than it probably is right now. While it's still early that can make a surprisingly big difference.
