FileDrop has grown into a full smart sidebar for Google Sheets, Docs and Slides. From managing files, doing OCR, AI tasks and even translations.
People are using it in so many ways I didn't think about it. Probably that's the reason Sheets/Excel are so popular, they solve so many problems easy. A list with columns and rows is everything you need. I am sending an automated email to get feedback from users and the other day someone wrote this:
"I absolutely love FileDrop - I'm working on a massive multi-sheet inventory project and was suuuuuuuffering transferring pictures. Your add-on as truly changed the game and made this project go from dread to joy!
Currently using it to insert individual pictures into Google Sheets on different pages.

It felt awesome that even one person benefits and we solve a real pain.
FileDrop is just a small side project I started to solve my own problem and also see how the Google WorkSpace ecosystem works.
Despite being a small side project it did 2 sales which feels incredible, that's the validation you are looking for when launching a project, people paying for what you offer.
A few days ago I saw an increase in installs, over 3000 in one day. Most likely from a single domain from a Google WorkSpace admin that installed it for all their users but it's still great to see that they did that and they found it useful to install it for their entire userbase.

Hey Alex, this is phenomenal stuff! I'm all about optimizing workflows, and FileDrop seems like a game-changer in that department. The fact that you've expanded it to include OCR and AI tasks is just the cherry on top. It's amazing how a simple tool can solve such a wide array of problems, isn't it?
