Filio
AI-powered construction photo documentation and reporting
ilio is an AI-powered construction photo documentation and reporting platform built to turn jobsite photos into searchable, defensible records. We started Filio because field documentation is usually captured, but rarely captured with the context needed to hold up under inspections, claims, disputes, or closeouts.
Filio started with research, then job sites
Filio did not start with a business plan. It started with research at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and a repeated pattern we could not ignore in the field. As PhD researchers working across Computer Science and Engineering disciplines, we were trained to demand precision and proof. But on real job sites, we saw highly skilled engineers, inspectors, and contractors forced to document critical work with tools that were not designed for defensibility.
A standard phone photo can show a condition, but it often cannot prove:
exactly where it was taken,
when it was taken,
what it was tied to on the plan sheets or drawings, or
what direction the camera was facing.
That gap is not just an organization problem. It is a data integrity problem.
The problem: “Camera Roll Chaos” and missing context
Teams were drowning in scattered media across camera rolls, texts, emails, shared drives, and folders. Even when teams had thousands of photos, they still struggled to answer basic questions fast:
“Where is the photo for this plan sheet location?”
“What changed between last week and today?”
“Can we prove the condition before a dispute or claim?”
“How do we build a consistent photo report without manual copy/paste?”
In construction and engineering, a photo is not just a memory. It is evidence.
What we built: a construction photo app + job site photo tracking tool
We built Filio to make field capture as easy as taking a photo, but with the rigor required for professional documentation.
Filio works as:
a construction photo app for field capture,
construction site photo documentation software anchored to plans and maps,
a job site photo tracking tool that preserves defensible metadata, and
cloud based photo management for contractors with fast search and reporting.
How Filio works
Capture in the field
Capture photos, videos, 360 media, scans, annotations, and measured visuals
Pin captures directly on plan sheets/blueprints or in map view
Offline-friendly workflows with reliable sync
Preserve proof automatically
GPS location, date/time, bearing, weather, elevation, and captured-by details (as available)
Make everything searchable
AI captions, AI labels, and AI-powered photo tagging
Tags, custom fields, and project-level guidance so terminology stays consistent
Generate reports fast
Template-driven PDF and Word reporting for progress tracking, inspections, QA/QC, closeouts, insurance evidence packages, and post-disaster documentation
Why Filio is different
Many photo apps make sharing easier. Filio was built for data, traceability, and defensible documentation. We focused on plan-sheet accuracy, map context, metadata integrity, and reporting workflows that reduce manual work.
Founded by Georgia Tech PhD engineers, Filio helps teams capture once, retrieve instantly, and deliver professional documentation with less manual effort.
