Fitmate chronicles #2:

Yesterday’s recap

Yesterday I managed to develop a few features for the Fitmate App.

I’ve added a Popup to User Avatar so now whenever a user wants to check short info about the creator of the sports event.

Native Base is a really great UI library which has this Popover component that enables you to do it quickly.

I also have finished the UI for the Joining event Request notification. What’s left is to actually hook it up to the Notifications service…

What else? Some boring code (not really for a dev) code cleanup happened too.

Totally worked on the app for around 2-3 hours which is great in my current situation.

5.30 am continues

I woke up today again at 5.30 a.m.( 5.45 to be totally honest ) and managed to put around 2 hours of work on the app, which as I mentioned above- is awesome.

Those 5.30 am mornings give me a really great start and motivation for the whole day of client dev work.

I feel more productive overall on the day and I tend to procrastinate much less.

Some time ago I started writing more Todos for my side project and client work, I started with doing them inside Notion like most of my stuff, but lately, I’ve been putting more of them inside the code.

Less context switching enables me to focus better on them.

Productivity improvements

Today I created a Markdown TODO file inside my project and put all the tasks I’ve put inside different files in the code into this 1 file for a better overview of what needs to be done in the APP.

I knew I need to finish soon because my son’s waking time has been approaching so I’ve also added a few more tasks to this TODO Markdown file and even added labels to each of them.

Overall it has been the second-most productive day in a row. Hopefully, this saga will continue this way.

I’m trying to stay balanced and go to sleep as soon as possible because I want to do the work slow and steady and avoid exhaustion at all costs.

Wish me persistence,

Paweł
