Multiplatform Application for Fitness Tracking
Being interested in Fitness for a long time, 4 years ago I decided to build a mobile application to help users track their fitness data. Although even at a time there were so many famous applications such as myFitnessPal etc. The problem I noticed was, even the functionalities that would not cost the developer/owner extra, were included in premium subscriptions and they were unfairly expensive. Another problem was that they were not structured well. Nutrition, Trainings and Body measurements were not in a way to follow separation of concerns to make the tracking and navigating the fitness history easy.
Then I started building the project, but I didn’t study IT so it was a nightmare. I would think about what it would look like before I go to sleep and try to make it so in the morning. I wasn’t aware that having a whole design doesn’t add up to development time but actually shortens it. In addition, I came across other applications that give opportunity to fitness professionals managing their own clients but they would have it through a website only. I implemented the same thing but in a mobile ios/android app as well, I really think I smashed this functionality and hopefully will connect Fitness professionals to their clients.
As a result, all this work took me 4 years on and off to complete. It probably still has a lot of room for improvement but I truly believe I nailed it. Now, when It comes to marketing plans or so on, I don’t even have a proper landing page yet. And I will definitely rant about the struggles in another post, Hopefully this is just the beginning of a fun journey.
Here is a link if anyone is interested (i know i know no landing, but I assure you features are great imho.)

You’re onto the right pain point. The thing I keep hearing is people are done paying CalAI-level pricing for something that still makes logging feel like work. MetricSync has been getting traction mostly because it’s cheaper than CalAI, more accurate on messy real meals, and does more than basic calorie logging. The 3 day free trial also helps people test it without overthinking.
If you can make repeat logging feel stupidly fast and keep the pricing sane, there’s definitely room here.
