Flow Notes
work better together
Hey there! I'm a solo developer behind Vrexis Technologies, and I want to share the real story of why I built FlowNotes.
The Daily Struggle Was Real
Picture this: I'm working on a project, switching between Slack, Notion, Trello, and Google Docs every five minutes. I'd lose track of conversations, forget where I saved that important note, and don't even get me started on trying to collaborate in "real-time" with tools that clearly weren't built for it.
I kept thinking: "There has to be a better way, right?" Turns out, there wasn't – so I decided to build it myself.
Enter FlowNotes
What started as a weekend side project became my obsession. I wanted to create something that actually made sense – beautiful notes, simple task boards, and collaboration that just works. No more app-jumping, no more lost information, no more headaches.
The Solo Developer Reality Check:
Spent countless nights figuring out real-time collaboration
Learned that users don't want 50 features – they want 5 that actually work well
Discovered that privacy isn't just a feature, it's a necessity
Realized that building alone means every decision is yours
Biggest "Aha!" Moments:
Users over features – I was building what I thought was cool, not what people needed
Simple is stupidly hard – Making complex things look easy took forever
Being solo means being resourceful – You learn to prioritize fast and trust your gut when there's no team to endlessly debate every decision.
What Keeps Me Going:
Every time someone tells me they've been looking for exactly this kind of tool, I remember why I started. Building something that helps teams work better together – even if it's just five people – feels pretty amazing.
Where I'm Heading:
FlowNotes Community Edition launches this July 11th, with a Professional Edition coming later for bigger organizations. It's been a wild ride building this solo, but honestly? I wouldn't change it.
If you're tired of juggling a dozen collaboration tools, come check out what I've been building at vrexistechnologies.com. I'd love to hear what you think!
