Financial analytics API for your business

March 5, 2026 I pivoted a financial analytics tool for SMBs into a developer API

I originally started building PopUp as a financial analytics tool for small businesses.

The idea was pretty straightforward: help owners understand their real profitability by combining revenue data with bank transactions so they could see revenue, expenses, profit, and cash flow in one place.

While building it, I found the hardest part to be creating the infra needed to allow these users to access their banking data + processing data and then reconciling the two.

Stripe and your bank are different systems of record and don't always match up. Figuring out what your actual profit is usually means exporting CSVs and stitching everything together manually. Understanding when and why payouts don't match deposits can be hugely helpful to businesses of all sizes.

As a developer, I found myself wishing I could just call an API and get clean financial metrics back so I could use them in my own tools or dashboards, so I pivoted the project to help other developers and businesses access this data themselves - as affordably as possible.

Popup connects Stripe and bank data and returns normalized financial metrics you can use programmatically.

There’s an example on the homepage showing what the response looks like:

The idea is that developers and founders can use this to power things like internal dashboards, automated reporting, or scripts that track profitability.

It’s still early, but the beta is live, the API + webhooks functional, and I'm looking for feedback from users.

Pricing right now is $4.99/month, which includes 1000 API credits per month, and unused credits roll over so they don’t expire. Users who are interested in testing and providing feedback can contact me to receive additional test credits, too.

If anyone here has run into the same problem trying to understand real profit across multiple systems, I’d love to hear how you’re solving it today.

I started building Popup as a back office tool for SMBs. During development I realized the hardest problem was reconciling financial data, so I pivoted to an API that returns normalized financial metrics for developers.
