App is now live in the Windows Apps Store in additional it can be download from the landing page. Very excited about this one. Working on other OS versions that will be coming soon. Also working out any tweaks in app as feedback is received.

Hey Franklin! Just stumbled upon on this post using search.
How things going with the Microsoft Store, what's your overall experience with it so far, what are the gotchas? As I can see you're doing pretty much what I'd like to do - have a landing page and link the "Windows Download" button straight to the store listing to avoid the pricy code signing trouble.
I gave up on this pretty quickly. So I can't really say how effective this was. But yes for getting around windows store it should work fine.
Ah, I understand. So did you chose a paid cert instead to sign your code, or did other projects instead?
its and electron app. from my experience you don't need to sign the app. The windows store does this for you. You do need an app ID. If you go outside the windows store is where you would need to sign it yourself.
