Active Distraction Shield & Offline-First Focus Tracker for
Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
As a Senior Android Engineer, I noticed a recurring issue in my daily workflow: traditional Pomodoro apps and focus timers are passive. They don't actively stop you when micro-distractions break your flow state, and many require invasive background permissions or online tracking.
To fix this, I built FocusMoat — a native Android app crafted with Kotlin & Jetpack Compose.
⚡ Key Features:
• Offline-First & Private: All data and logic stay 100% on-device with zero battery drain.
• Proactive Distraction Shield: Actively deters context-switching during deep work sessions.
• AI Session Breakdown: Lightweight post-session insights to optimize your daily focus patterns.
We are currently live on Google Play and scheduled for launch on Product Hunt! 🚀
I’d love to get feedback from the IH community, especially fellow builders and mobile developers. What features do you find most critical in productivity apps?
Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback!
