As a Senior Android Engineer, I noticed a recurring issue in my daily workflow: traditional Pomodoro apps and focus timers are passive. They don't actively stop you when micro-distractions break your flow state, and many require invasive background permissions or online tracking.

To fix this, I built FocusMoat — a native Android app crafted with Kotlin & Jetpack Compose.

    The real risk isn’t distraction blocking it’s false confidence.
    If the shield blocks interruptions but doesn’t distinguish a real focus break from an intentional context switch, the session data could become misleading.
    I’d be very interested in how you validate whether the "distraction" being blocked actually hurt the user’s focus.
    That distinction could be critical to making FocusMoat’s AI insights genuinely trustworthy.
