FocusOKR
Simple Personal Objectives and Key Results
I couldn't express my happiness. After a successful Product Hunt launch, FocusOKR has more than 200 users.
Additionally, I got 4 requests for OKRs feedback which I manage to provide during a weekend. Giving feedback for user goals objective was a satisfying experience. I keep my fingers crossed 🤞for them to fulfill them.
Today a fruit of last three months of work - FocusOKR - was released on Product Hunt https://www.producthunt.com/posts/focusokr I'm so excited. 🥳
Also: I already got a message with super helpful information about grammar errors that I made in the onboarding process (fixed already).

Do I get this right, that this version is a feature-reduced and streamlined version of your industry version, to hide unnecessary complexity? Because unnecessary complexity was exactly the reason why we switched from Jira to Trello.
Best wishes

Hi, FocusOKR is dedicated to individuals and it was built with this assumption from the beginning. But there are a few OKRs tools for companies on a market. Weekdone is the first that came up to my mind.

Last month of this quarter started so I begin preparation for FocusOKR launch. First of all, I picked a launch date. FocusOKR is scheduled for September 25th, 2019.
Since one of my key result - "100 people are waiting for that application" is only completed in 21% I decided to try one month of Ship Pro on Product Hunt. It is a costly expense but hopefully, it will help beat me this key result.
NOTE: if you want to help me with this one, please subscribe on https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/focusokr
Did you use Pro account on Ship before? What was the result?

Today I've added last main feature of FocusOKR - sharing Objectives and Key Results. In previous updates, I wrote about them, but now you can see my Objectives for this quarter https://app.focusokr.com/okrs/ff9XQVvBrAPnhsfs5K8vkKMOWvK2/y2019q3
As you can see, work on FocusOKR goes pretty well. If you want to help me with last Key Result, please subscribe to waiting list https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/focusokr (no spam, I promise).
NOTE: Just a reminder - application is not released yet. I'm not planing big changes, but if you create an account right now, it may be removed before release at the end of September.

Today I've finished the implementation of weekly planning feature. It went smoothly. Of course, FocusOKR is not ready for the public, but I'm able to move my objective, key results and weekly tasks to FocusOKR already! 🎉
For next week or two, I have the plan to add email reminders using SendGrid. I never did things like this so I expect a lot of experiments to set this up.

I finished the implementation of "My OKRs" page. This was one of two cornerstones of this application.
Without weekly plans, OKRs are just a set of declarations that nobody will remember after a month. To gain a radical focus objectives must be in the center of our week to week activities. This feature will be my plan for the rest of this month.

I must admit that the third key result "100 people are waiting for that application" is the hardest for me.
I'm not a seller. I know who will get most from using OKRs - People like you and me who want to focus on their project, who want to achieve something.
I'm quite confident about "At the end of the Q3 first version of the site is running" key result. But 100 potential users seams very hard.
Nevertheless, if you want to help me, you can subscribe to Product Hunt waiting list https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/focusokr
For now, I have 19 subscribers.

I was thinking about this project from some time but in Q3 I've decided to make it my one and only quarterly objective.
This is how my quarters begins. I plan a thing that I want to achieve (objective) and declaring how I want to get to that goal (key results).
FocusOKR on day one looks like this:
Objective:
Personal OKRs should be easy and accessible for everyone
Key Results:
- Read 2 books, watch 2 videos about OKRs and finish Vuejs course
- At the end of the Q3 first version of the site is running
- 100 people are waiting for that application

The OKRs works best for me in terms of getting things done. All OKR tools are created for companies. This is why for Q3 2019 I only have one Objective - to make personal OKRs easy and accessible for everyone.
