Stay present in meetings

July 17, 2026 I got tired of zoning out in meetings

I noticed something frustrating during long meetings. I'd think I was following the discussion, but then someone would ask me a question and I'd realize my mind had wandered several minutes earlier without me noticing.

I wondered if there was a simple way to catch those moments sooner.

That led me to build FocusPulse. It sends random vibration prompts during meetings. If I notice one, I tap it. If I miss it, it's usually a sign my attention drifted.

I'm still validating the idea, so I'm more interested in honest feedback than downloads.

Would you use something like this? If not, what would make it genuinely useful for you?

The interesting opportunity isn't reminding people to pay attention—it's helping them recognize when their attention has already drifted without them realizing it. I'd keep validating whether users ultimately value the random prompts themselves or the awareness they build about their own patterns of attention. That insight could extend well beyond meetings.

Really appreciate this framing, it's made me think differently about what I'm actually building.

would love to know, if you had to choose, which would feel more valuable to you the in moment buzz that catches you drifting, or the pattern data afterwards that shows you when and how often your attention drops?

Trying to understand which one actually changes behavior for people.

        Appreciate the question.

The answer depends on the role you want that awareness to play in the product, and I don't think I'd do it justice in a few comments.

Would be good to discuss it in the context of what you're building.

What's the best email to reach you on?

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
