FocusValley
Stardew Valley meets Pomodoro
Most focus apps focus on focusing.
I wanted to focus on what happens between focus blocks. The 30 second gaps. The moments you push away from the desk to stretch or stare out the window.
These tiny moments are where I'd reach for my phone. Where social media would start its work. Where the spiral begins. I wanted something charming to put there instead. Not a productivity enforcer. Not a habit tracker. Just a quiet, cute world that's there when I need to come up for air.
The twist hit me one night around 2am. In Stardew Valley you play a farmer growing crops. What if you flipped it. What if you were the crop?
That's FocusValley.
You start as a seed. Each focus session grows your crop into one of 24 hand felted residents of a cottagecore valley. You become Goldboss, the literally golden melon. Queenie, the pumpkin who insists it's spooky season year round. Truffy. You unlock hats, eyes, and skin variants.
And you can invite friends to grow alongside you in real time multiplayers. But quiet presence. No webcams. No talking. No pressure to be on.
The kind of low key companionship you get from sitting in a coffee shop near a friend, both with your laptops open.
I made this for slightly introverted people. The kind who want company sometimes, but not always, and not loud company. Made by one of them, for the rest of us.
Being honest:
- Solo founder, Lucid Hour LLC
- Bootstrapped, no investors, no team
- Pro is $3.99 one time. No subscription, ever.
- Tech stack: Firebase, Stripe, Cloudflare. Web only, no install.
What I'm asking:
Honest feedback. Especially from anyone who:
- Has tried 5+ focus apps and bounced off them
- Identifies as a bit introverted
- Studies or works alongside friends online
- Has thoughts on the "focus app that's actually about the breaks" framing
