June 29, 2026 How Getting Fired Led Me to Build Forge

I got fired in April 2026.

No warning. No performance review. No conversation leading up to it. Just a meeting that ended with "your last day is April 30."

I'd spent years doing B2B marketing for SaaS companies — helping founders position their products, build outbound pipelines, write content that converted. I was good at it. I enjoyed it. And in one afternoon, that chapter closed without explanation.

The days after were strange. Not panic exactly. More like a forced pause I didn't ask for but probably needed.

I did two things that first week.

I registered Narrative Ops - a marketing agency I'd been thinking about building for a while but kept putting off because having a job felt safer. And I opened a blank document to start writing about what I'd learned over the years.

That blank document is where Forge was born.

The problem I kept seeing

In my years working with founders, I noticed something consistent.

Almost every founder I worked with knew LinkedIn mattered. They'd seen competitors build audiences, attract inbound leads and close deals off the back of consistent posting. They understood the value. They wanted to show up.

But they didn't.

Not because they lacked things to say. Most of them had more genuine expertise and hard-won insight than most LinkedIn influencers combined. Not because they were lazy. These were people working 60-hour weeks building real businesses.

They didn't post because the blank page killed them every time.

You open LinkedIn. You think about what to write. You type a sentence. Delete it. Type another. Close the tab. Tell yourself you'll do it tomorrow.

Tomorrow never comes.

I watched this happen with clients. With founders I knew personally. With myself. The intention was always there. The execution rarely was.

Why existing tools didn't solve it

The obvious answer was to use an AI writing tool. So I looked at what existed.

Taplio — the most talked-about LinkedIn tool — charges $39 a month for a plan with zero AI credits. The AI features their entire marketing is built around start at $69 a month. And even then, the content it produces sounds like ChatGPT wrote a LinkedIn post. Which is because it did.

Hypefury was built for Twitter. LinkedIn is an afterthought.

Generic AI tools like ChatGPT produce content that sounds nothing like the person using them. You still spend 20 minutes editing every post to make it sound human. You've just moved the blank page problem, not solved it.

The core issue nobody was fixing: the content didn't sound like the founder.

Every post from these tools could have come from anyone. There was no voice. No perspective. No personality. Just LinkedIn-flavoured AI soup.

What I built instead

Forge is built around one core idea - the AI should sound like you, not like AI.

Before you generate anything, you describe how you write. Your tone. Your sentence style. What you avoid. Whether you're direct or conversational. Whether you use personal stories or data. What words you never use.

You do this once. Forge remembers it forever. Every post it generates runs through that profile.

The result is content that actually sounds like something you'd write - not like a template, not like ChatGPT, not like every other founder using the same tool.

Beyond voice personalisation, Forge has everything a founder needs to show up consistently on LinkedIn:

AI post writer — type a topic, pick a format (Story, List, Hot Take, How-To) and get a full post in 30 seconds.

Hook generator — the first line of a LinkedIn post determines everything. Generate 6 scroll-stopping opening lines for any topic and pick the strongest one.

Content repurposer — paste any blog post, article, newsletter or meeting notes and Forge rewrites it as a LinkedIn post in your voice.

Content calendar — plan your entire week of LinkedIn content in one sitting.

LinkedIn auto-publishing — posts go live automatically at the scheduled time.

How I built it

Here's the part that still surprises me.

I have no coding experience. I'm a marketer. I've never built a software product before.

I built Forge using Lovable — a no-code AI app builder — connected to Supabase for the database and auth, and the Claude API for the AI writing engine. The entire product went from idea to live in a few weeks.

This wouldn't have been possible two years ago. The tools available to non-technical founders today are remarkable. What used to require a technical co-founder and months of development now requires a clear vision, the right tools and a willingness to figure things out as you go.

Where we are now

Forge is live at forge.viveksnair.com.

Founders are using it. Posts are going out. Paid plans launched at $17/month for Starter and $39/month for Pro.

We're listed on There's An AI For That, Buildlist and a growing number of AI tool directories. LinkedIn auto-publishing is live. The analytics dashboard is in progress.

And I'm still writing — just not on a blank page anymore.

What getting fired taught me

I didn't plan to build a product. I planned to find another job.

But being forced to stop gave me the space to start something I'd been thinking about for years. The blank page that used to paralyse me became the problem I was determined to solve.

If you're a founder who knows you should post on LinkedIn but keeps putting it off — Forge was built for you.

Free to start. No credit card. Your first post in 60 seconds.

About

Solo founders know LinkedIn matters. They just never post because the blank page wins every time and existing tools are either overpriced or too generic. Forge fixes that.
