Local prototype for WordPress contact-form spam feedback — W
I am gathering feedback about contact-form spam on WordPress sites (owners and small agencies welcome).
I have been building FormShield Lite as a local, simulated prototype that sits in front of form submits (honeypot, rate limit, lightweight challenge) and logs blocked vs allowed. It is not a WordPress install package, not verified against named plugins, and not live production protection. There is nothing to install and nothing to buy in this thread — I only want to learn whether the problem is costly enough to keep experimenting.
If you run or manage contact/inquiry forms:
- What form plugin or setup do you use (for example Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, or other)?
- Roughly how much spam do you see (per day/week is fine), and what have you already tried?
- What does it cost you in time or money (triage, tools, missed real inquiries)?
- Have spam filters blocked legitimate messages?
Please do not share passwords, API keys, or actual form submissions.
Aim is exploratory learning in the next few days — feedback is not a purchase signal. Thanks for any firsthand notes.

The cost question is the right one. Are you finding sites where spam creates enough recurring time or missed-lead cost that owners would actually replace or add a protection layer, rather than just tolerate it?
Thanks — that's the question we're trying to learn from operators. If you run or manage WordPress contact/inquiry forms: which plugin or setup do you use, roughly how much spam do you see, what have you tried, and what does it cost in time or missed leads? Nothing to install or buy here — firsthand notes only.
That operator-level cost question is the right one to validate. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?
