Got to the front page of Hacker News!

We did a Show HN today and got to the front page with 91 upvotes and 40 comments! https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22357517

The comments were mixed to say the least, which was tough to read...on the bright side, at least this showed that some people have an interest in using our product to communicate with their customers via SMS.

For those interested, this generated 2221 unique site visits and ~20 signups for free trials today.

We still have a lot to build, and are more excited than ever about our roadmap!

Don't be discouraged about mixed or unhappy feedback.
    Two reasons why:

    1. The market will pull the product out of the ideal team. (not the other way around)
    2. The customer is the one using the furniture at the end of the day. You need a suggestions box, comments, and a showing room, because in contrast to real furniture you cannot overhear people trying it out in the showroom.

This is a great perspective, thanks!

is there anything you did to get there with "Show HN:" type post?

Would also be interested to know! Whatever I post drop right off the radar never to be seen again.

We honestly didn't do anything special. We've done other show HN posts with other products in the past that I would have expected to take off and didn't (and other articles as well). I think it was just luck perhaps?

If that is so then I'd say it was well deserved in any case, and I hope you have a lot more luck coming your way!

Also, it's always great to have mixed reactions when launching a product. Creating a bit of love/hate is a perfect catalyst because it will cause more noise, organic marketing, and is way way better than being unnoticed. It generates debate and a conversation that are good for your product, both from a feedback perspective but also conversion. Cybertruck love & hate is good for business. There needs to be a balance of course, and it can't be deep concerns, but I think what you found with HN is fantastic.

Wow, people are harsh on HN!
    Best of luck!

Props for getting on the front page and generating vigorous discussion. I think you answered their 'concerns' really well! 👍

Thank you Devan! We definitely have items on our roadmap to expand beyond Slack and address many of the concerns
