The sleek Fortnite companion app
We managed to ship the Android and iOS apps in the store.
It's been rough with the review process and different ad graphics but we made it. Yay!

Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.getfoyl.foyl
Stay Safe!
Made the iOS beta and sent out the invite to our subscribers! 🤞
If any Indie hacker plays Fortnite (I know I know maybe not the right audience) make you can give it a try too.
Any feedback would be tremendously appreciated.

As I started working on the first beta for iOS with an amazing developer, I wanted to validate the idea of the app by implementing a well-crafted Landing / Coming soon page!
Even though there are a couple of competitors on iOS and Android (which is a good sign I guess) and huge traffic for websites related to this kind of content!
Ran a couple of 1 day targeted ads on Instagram based on the interest in the game and managed to get a paid promo from a big Fortnite Instagram account.
100 Signups is not that bad I guess?!

What did you use to build your landing page? Also will there be any copyright laws since your using Fortnite logos and skins inside your app?

I used Webflow.
Not super experienced in copyright claims but I do state content is property of Epic Games and I don’t sell anything. I don’t use their logo.

When the Fortnite game launched there was a lot of hype around their business model, freemium but without rightly criticized loot-boxes.
You can just buy a skin or item to show off for a couple of bucks but with no competitive advantage (it just looks cool).
Epic Games made $2.4 billion in revenue in 2018 like that.
When I was playing almost every day I literally scrolled Reddit and Twitter daily to check what are the latest skins, they were so cool.
Later I discovered that there are native apps and websites that solve this problem with decent downloads and reviews.
Because designing apps is what I do, I wanted to make one myself, a simple and beautiful one as a side project during evenings and weekends! Having to work with models and skins made by Epic games is actually a joy as the content is already awesome, you just need to make it stand out.
Now I'm working with a great iOS developer to make it a reality.

Big fan of the game and the industry in general. I want to make a well-crafted companion app to view content related to Fortnite. Gaming companies moving to a freemium service-based using in-game currency and skins.
