Frauvis
Elevating Black women in tech.
In January 2020, I originally set a goal to make $2k a month in MRR so I can continue work fulltime without having to use money from my other business to support this one.
I continued to work on this fulltime, yet we never exceeded $200-300 in MRR (with the exception of one month making $620).
While reevaluating Q4 goals. I challenged myself to make at least $2k on a Quarterly basisπ.
Fast forward. We made $1.8k in Hackathon sponsorship and 1.2 in sponsorships and ads. Totaling in $3k (rounded down).
The Caveat: I won't and haven't actually seen any of this money
to pay myself compensation. It will go towards
- Hackathon prizes and swag
- Tech infrastructure
- Overdue SaaS bills
Maybe I should up my Q4 goal to $3k? π
Maybe I'll make a post on what I did wrong these past 6-9mos, and changes I have planned for the upcoming months? π€
After stripe fee's we now make $22 per month in support.
We have had an increase in active members, events, and newsletter subscribers. We had a pike a spike of growth since COVID started. Also, increase my hours are reaching out to the various companies to confirm they are hiring. As well as reaching out to each member to see how I can support.

I added a button in my newsletter vs a text with a link to Patreon. My Patreon was listed in the newsletter for months.
Immediately I received more clicks and one person became a monthly supporter.
The same with Buy Me a Coffee. I have received one-off coffee and venmo support in the past few months.
On 09/30 I received my first $15 a month supporter.
In total i'm now recieving , $20 a month in donation support.

I started all of the social media accounts and a newsletter.
Around December held the first frauvis community in-person event.
By December the email list also grew to about ~120 black women in tech. Many of the new subscribers were word of mouth.

Started market research, attending events and cold outreach to validate the idea. I had about ~75 Black women in tech that responded back.
I had originally planned to submit the idea to participate and startup bus. And intended to launch by the end of the summer.
