A Real Faith Struggle Became My Why

A few months back, life had me at a breaking point. Work was exhausting, my faith felt distant, and flipping through devotionals left me feeling unseen. One night, desperate for a word in season, I dumped my worries into an AI chat and just asked, “Is there a verse for what I’m feeling?” The answer that popped up was so spot-on it felt like God was using technology to speak to me. Chills.

That moment stuck. I realized if I could get that encouragement on a rough night, other Christians probably needed it too. But could I actually build something like this?

Construction Worker By Day, No-Code Hustler By Night

For most of my life, I’ve been a construction guy—tool belt on, hands dirty, figuring things out as I go. My “tech” career? Tinkering with WordPress sites on and off for 20 years, never really touching real code. When the idea for FRGVN wouldn’t let me go, I turned to low- and no-code tools. At first, I hacked something together on Lovable.dev (shoutout to the indie hackers grinding with what they’ve got!). When I needed more, I used Cursor AI and got help from Claude Sonnet’s thinking model—version 3.7 at first, then 4.0 when it dropped.

Building FRGVN was messy, honest work—just like everything else I do. The first time I saw my journal entry turn into a personalized Bible verse and devotional, I knew I had something real.
