Came up with the idea
As we are a big fan of home automation we found that we could not find a database of all the products available in physical stores. There as also no way to compare the prices of the same products over different stores. So we set out to find a solution.

Ever figure out where to find a DB of available products?
Either barcode databases which I believe I exists or write a crawler that indexes and analyses major retail chain websites I guess
Thanks! I didn't consider barcode DBs. Crawler makes sense as well. Assuming this is the more common approach, since my searches are returning more services that crawl for you, rather than DBs with retail product info.
