FriendSavvy
Be a better friend. Personal CRM to help you stay connected.
After 4 long months, https://www.friendsavvy.com is finally ready for launch!
The last 2 weeks I've completed a redesign of the home page, building a payment integration with Stripe and improving the onboarding experience for new users.
I've made it so that I get emails whenever someone signs up or subscribes. I plan to reach out to each user and ask for their feedback to understand how to improve the product.
Over the next week, I plan to post on a variety of product aggregator sites (Show HN, Product Hunt, various Subreddits). I'll be using examples from other IndieHackers for inspiration. I plan to keep track of my success with each site and create a follow-up post which outlines how much traffic and how many sign ups I got from each.
The upcoming weeks will be exciting, but this isn't my first rodeo. I know that most products have an uneventful launch and so I won't be discouraged if the results aren't what I hope. The real challenge is figuring out how to find regular growth on a consistent basis over the next year or two.
I chose to hire a UX designer on Fiverr to help me come up with a look and feel that I was proud of. I found it somewhat demoralizing to be frustrated with the look/feel of my project on a day-to-day basis.
I'm very happy with the design and it was worth the $150 I spent.

A friend uses Google Calendar invites to coordinate conversations with friends. He wanted to continue using this system but leverage FriendSavvy to add notes.
I built a simple integration and am pretty excited because this was not on my radar when I first started. Getting users and soliciting their feedback paying off.

I purchased the friendsavvy.com domain and deployed my MVP to the world. Granted, its still missing a lot of features and I'd never promote it at this stage (its somewhat embarrassing how simple and ugly it is). That said, I hope I can get a handful of friends & family users to start giving me feedback. Knowing that a feature I write today will be in the hands of users tomorrow is motivating and should increase my speed.

I had originally started to work on a mobile app in Oct 2019, but I didn't make quick enough progress while learning mobile development and I lost motivation. I decided to re-visit my idea but to build the product as a web application.
I chose Django (Python) to build my MVP.

Life is increasingly busy (work, kids, etc) and I've found some of my relationships getting less strong over time.
