August 19, 2020 Started working on my MVP

Today the developers started working on my MVP. I fully outsourced the product development at this point, with a view of hiring a part timer full stack developer a few months after my launch. It is estimated to take around 2 months to finalize a nice looking MVP. During that period, I will finalize the branding, writing the marketing materials (including 12-15 blog articles) and launching the social media pages.

What was your process on finding your product development team. What are the learnings you've had so far. I'm ready to take my idea/business requirements to a developer. Would love some insight.

Hey Spartan, thanks for question. Currently, since it is only a v1 and I have alot of developer friends, I was able to pay a lower than market rate to work on it. So basically, my suggestion for you would be to try to do a v1, with only the required features (only necessities) at first, try not to spend much as your goal at this stage would be to validate your idea. Although my v1 is not yet finalized, there is a clear delay as you can see, I learned alot. Most importantly is how to do user interviews, that developers are always late (obviously) and to be ready prior to the launch. Being ready, would include everything from setting up a landing page (I did mine via carrd by the way), writing articles (to put up on your website's blog), reading articles to understand the struggles and the things you need to do when you launch and how to market online. Also, being part of communities like IH and PH was really helpful, as it really gives you a glimpse of the overall difficulty of launching a successful startup. Good luck and I would love to help you further if you have any more questions.

thanks for the info appreciated. I need some developer friends :)
Any recommended resources on doing user interviews?

Maybe you know people that know developers, doesnt have to be a direct contact. For my user interviews, I will use Tawk chat and mopinion for the feedback. While, chatting you can lure users into a quick interview, if it is just online and if a user added their feedback via mopinion you can email them back. Now, since a characteristic of my buyer persona are usually non finance people, most of friends are non finance, so I meet them and I walk them through the product (what's already been built) and ask for feedback along the way, it doesn't take much time really. Also, it's not like I go meet them for that only, when I do meet them up I open up the subject and take their quick feedback. Usually, though, I am guessing, I could receive better feedback when I have a fully workable v1 (which I don't have yet).

August 12, 2020 Launched Landing Page

After writing the website content and settling on the development house that will be performing the MVP (in terms of price and timeline), I bought the domain and launched the landing page, until the MVP is finalized.
Next step is finalizing the branding, writing the marketing materials and launching social media pages.

June 30, 2020 Got the Idea!

Having to work in the financial field for more than eight years. I have many individuals / business, unable to perform their financial valuation / feasibility study due to their lack of knowledge or cash available. In that sense, I cam up with the idea of creating Front Figure.
