fruux
Sync & share contacts, calendars & tasks.
Back to the roots!
Reached an agreement with our investors to buy back all of our shares. Starting today fruux is 100% founder owned again.
Quite the ride from student project, to venture backed company and back to small indie company.
The full story of this rollercoaster will be for another day, but most importantly: fruux will go on!
"Founded in December 2010, fruux GmbH is developing a solution that automatically syncs contacts, calendars and to-dos through the cloud. The seed investment by High-Tech Gründerfonds and netSTART Venture enables the company to continuously build out the technology and extend the team. This allows the product, which is already wildly successful for individual usage, to move to a full-blown solution for teams and companies."

fruux has been a student project for a few years, but it's time for the the next step.
Starting today - or whenever the company register feels like processing it - fruux is an actual company.
Still no office, no employees, or anything else besides our tiny software though. ;-)
Whee!

After growing pains with the uptime and cost of running fruux, there were only two ways to move forward: Quit or introduce paid plans.
Starting today there's a "pro" plan and I am excited to report that immediately after the release of the paid plan the first few customers signed up.

"I continue to think that the address book is one of the great untapped Web 2.0 opportunities, [...] and certainly more than an outside-in, invitation-driven 'social networking application' represents my real social network."
- Tim O'Reilly
Great idea and something we are working on - stay tuned for updates!
