September 7, 2020 Got our first user!

Well at the time of writing this, we have four.

It's not easy for a new desktop app to get the initial users as multiple warnings are shown to the user during the download and installation process. Microsoft and Apple don't like it when a user downloads an app outside their stores. Don't know how many users we've lost because of these warnings.

But hey, we're off to a start!

We plan to release the Linux version soon. Hopefully, we'll continue to see the traffic.

One key takeaway has been LinkedIn. Surprisingly, the traffic from LinkedIn peaks on weekends; at least this is what we experienced.

Great start, nonetheless!

August 27, 2020 Launching FsmPro: speed-up your development time

FsmPro is available for download on windows. We made sure users get all the essential features to accomplish the original task of designing state machines in the first version.

Quite annoyingly, early users might be shown Microsoft smart screen warning but it goes away with more users downloading the app.

All the features were ready to ship roughly a month back but we were experiencing screen dpi scaling issues which is a pain for desktop applications. Since FsmPro is a graphics interface tool, it is impossible to overlook dpi issues and so we had to redo the graphics calculations and widgets.

FsmPro might sound a like a no-code tool but it is not. Instead, it makes it easier for developers to structure code in a state machine so that more time is spent on making the design better than on code maintenance; code files for complex real-world state machines can get really big and super difficult to maintain.

FsmPro is cross-platform with the Linux version coming out soon.
You can learn more about the tool on the blog: https://medium.com/@FsmPro

Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Cheers!

July 26, 2020 Windows exe for beta release ready to roll out

Since FsmPro is cross-platform so I had to decide to select one platform for the initial release. Supporting custom graphics and having OS dependencies doesn't help either. I couldn't foresee releasing on Windows, Mac and Linux for the beta release. I selected windows as I expect the majority of my users on the platform followed by Linux.

So here we are. System testing completed for the Windows platform. Giving the finishing touches before I release the beta.
