Hi everyone! 👋
I'm Juan, an indie game developer and founder from Mexico.
Over the years, I realized that building a game is only one part of running a studio. Small teams also spend a lot of time managing finances, legal requirements, production workflows, and day-to-day operations using disconnected tools.
That's why I've been building GameDev MX StudioOps—an operations workspace designed specifically for indie game studios.
The platform currently includes:
Structured workflows for studio operations.
A Finance module that imports CSV sales reports and tracks revenue, ROI, break-even, burn rate, expenses, and financial projections.
Operational and legal resources to help studios build sustainable businesses.
Right now, the platform is focused on Mexico, and I'm actively working on English localization and support for additional countries.
I'm building this in public because I'd love to learn from other founders and indie developers.
What has been the biggest operational challenge for your studio outside of actually making games? I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences.

The Mexico-first approach makes this interesting.
Once finance, legal, and operational workflows sit in the same product, expanding countries becomes more than a localization question.
The decision to start with Mexico instead of pretending to support everyone on day one stood out to me. It makes the finance and legal side feel a lot more grounded than most studio tools.
Reading this I kept thinking it feels like the kind of product that could naturally be getting a lot more organic traffic than it probably is today. When you're still validating a niche like this that can change things pretty quickly.
Out of curiosity what made you notice that?
