A Gaming Database with a system to manage guides/news
ethugamedb.com can display info of a game just fine now, but it lacks transparency. I am still testing the water with a close eye on resources and server costs.
Working on adding more organic content on each game and begin to share it on popular places.
I add the site to Analytic a while ago. Not much visitors yet as I haven't actively promoted the site. Currently, re-touch on the core features.
Also add this to GG search console to follow the best practice of web owner, as well as use this to track my growth.

After struggling with AWS Elastic Beanstalk for almost a day. I finally deployed my application to the cloud!
Mapping the existing domain take me another 15 minutes, and bam, now it's live.
The page is a little blank at the moment, but it will be populated with content soon enough!

This is hard! Compare to the Heroku option when it comes to Rails application. I picked AWS Elastic Beanstalk as I want to know more about working on the cloud.
But the process involve a lot of small customization and minor tweak that are not in the official document. It took me ~10 hours to figure out how to deploy my existing source to the Elastic Beanstalk environment.
But it was worth the time! I learn about the following AWS Services:
- AWS RDS
- AWS Elastic Beanstalk
- AWS Route 53!

Added an administration mode for moderator to manage database via UI.
This is one of the key functions before the app can go live. Admin mode will be used to periodically uploade new content as well as manage existing data for the web application.

Grab a .com domain name on AWS for my project.
Why AWS? This is also to level up my knowledge on building a cloud-base-focus product. At the end of the day, regardless of the outcome of this web app, I still have gathered a lot of experience in developing a new product from scratch!

I touched on some core function and deployed my project to Heroku to test out my idea. This allows me to see how my web app performs on a medium-tier server. There are rooms for improvement in term of performance, bugs still appear from time to time.
But this marked a milestone for this side project

I started my first online website way back in 2017, where I put my hobby in video games into articles and word. The website manages to attract some visitors (Currently 1k/ Day) just to read my ranting and guides on some popular video games.
The platform choice was WordPress. Over time, I find there is a lot of limitations on this platform.
And the games industry require a vast amount of information to attract visitors. I found out I can build up a site that storing information on all video games and published it in my native language first.

The gaming landscape in my country is a little bland compare to rest of the world. We don't have a place to see the vibrant changes in the gaming world.
