I always knew I wanted to start a company. I just didn't know exactly what that company would be. I was thinking a lot about the entertainment industry, and especially video games. I'm a huge gamer, been gaming since I was 10, was sort of semi pro at Halo 2.
I was watching Brooklyn 99 one night and was like, man it would be awesome to play Overwatch with Terry Crews. Terry got into gaming because of his son, and wanted to voice one of the characters in Overwatch, and is voicing the main character in the new Crackdown. Then I wondered if my friends also wanted to do something like that. They did. But that's not really solving much of a problem. I knew that it is hard to make money from Youtube or Twitch, even if you're pretty popular, and I figured, why wouldn't this same idea work for them? And that's how Gamerize was born.

My original idea was a way to facilitate bets between people on the internet easier. I'm big into NBA Twitter and people would always say "I bet so and so goes for 30 tonight" and people would take them up on that, but that's really the end of it. Nobody actually follows through because Venmo has no concept of an escrow. Unfortunately, internet gambling laws got into the way. The same thing happened with my next idea, which was basically to help facilitate gambling on Twitch streams, as opposed to specifically esports betting. I was trying to help solve the problem of how to make money if you aren't incredibly popular on Twitch. Which is what led me to my next idea.

I wanted to be able to play video games with Terry Crews. Then I realized I could use the same idea to help streamers and youtubers get paid much better than they currently do.
