Twitter DM with gated feature based on followers count
I have done making MVP of Gated DM!

It took me about 1 month to build it (worked on it every night after work 😇).
I built it with Firebase, Next.js, mailgun and Tailwind CSS!
This time I really paid attention to the security things about Firestore.
The next step is marketing/sales, which is my weak point as well.
I will send cold emails to some influencers.
I saw Pieter, the creator of Nomadlist, tweeted that he got spam DMs on Twitter and he wants to limit the people who can send DMs to him based on some criteria such as followers count.
SO this tweet hit my brain, I was like "This would be very handy if I create a web app that does what Pieter says!" 🥳
And I made a video about the product I have been working on!

I checked the website and I'm not sure I clearly understand how the product works. My initial thought was that it automatically filters the dms I receive, but after reading the step by step section I got confused. Why would I check my eligibility before sending a dm to someone when I want to protect my own inbox? Did I misunderstood something?

So basically you need to check your eligibility before sending a dm to someone because that someone wants to protect their inbox.
Also, anyone who wants to send a DM has to check their eligibility before sending a dm to you.

So let's say I'd like to protect my inbox with your product. What are the steps I should go through from start to finish?
Or I'm the bad actor and I want to spend spam to someone who already uses your product. What am I going to see when I'm trying to send my message?

Gated DM doesn't have any control over your Twitter DM page.
So Gated DM is a standalone app and everything (messaging too) will be on it.
For example, this is my profile page on Gated DM.

When people wanna message me, they have to go there and send me a message there, not on the Twitter DM page.
So if you wanna protect your inbox, you need to make a profile on Gated DM and close your DM on Twitter 😅
