Gekri
Privacy-focused online journal
Gekri is my first project, hence this is the first time I am launching something on Product Hunt. It was tough to be prepared enough without any experience nor knowledge. But I've spent efforts to build a great product so I hope the community feedback would be positive.
For now, Gekri is doing fine. I wish I can reach the top #5 of the ranking, but without building a solid audience first, it would be hard.
Anyway, this event makes me very excited!
A friend of mine suggested me to share Gekri to Hacker News. I wasn't familiar with this community, so I had to learn first.
Then, once I was ready, I post Gekri on the platform with this title: "Show HN: I made a privacy-focused online journal (gekri.com)".
I believe that Gekri has got some success on Hacker News which makes me very happy as it was my first time sharing on this platform.
While I developed Gekri, the main features were implemented quite quickly. But afterward, I spent most of the time polishing the user experience, working on the landing page, making the copywriting... I gather user feedback to have better results.
Once Gekri reached a satisfied milestone, I decided to release it as version "1.0.0".

2: is the number of days that I spent building the MVP of Gekri. I submit it to the contest right away: https://devpost.com/software/gekri.
Since that day, I used my own application every single day and this is what I'm the most proud of. During the development, I came up with new ideas to implement: mood tracking, and more.

It tooks me only a few days before I started to write code. I really thought about how to develop the product before that. I was struggling with the idea of using Blockstack ecosystem or a traditional web architecture. That day, I couldn't sleep so I took my mobile and started browsing Twitter. I ended to the Can't Be Evil contest organised by Blockstack which pushed my decision.

I wanted to create a journal application since 2014 but I didn't have this opportunity until now. I was reading some stuff about Blockstack (https://blockstack.org/) by curiosity. I really like the idea of Dapp and the benefits it could bring to users. Oh wait, seems that there is no journal app built with Blockstack.

I write every day for more than 1 year. I wanted to develop a privacy first journal application and promote the benefits of daily writing.
