October 6, 2020 Got my first "I'm interested" email

So after a couple of days of sending a handful of outreach emails I had my first "I'm interested" email. I won't lie, this was a nice little bump to my confidence levels.

After sending over my calendar link they've booked a call for next week. This is the bit I most dread...sales calls. Damn I hate them.

October 5, 2020 Committed to outreach

So I've committed to contacting 50 new leads per day. This is not a huge amount, but I think consistency is key. I'm using Hunter.io's new "technology" feature to look for startups that are already using Webflow. They go into a list and then receive my outreach emails.

So far it's not going too badly. Although there have been some initial delivery problems due to not warming up the domain first. Doh! I've had to lower the number of emails delivered each day :(

Other than that I'm joining no-code groups in the hope I can get feedback on my service. Facebook has also been very helpful thanks to the Productize group run by @Vinrob.

October 1, 2020 Launched Get Social Design

I initially wanted to launch a productized design service about 1.5 years ago but backed out after thinking there was too much competition :) NOW there is competition.

So why launch now? As a design who never got on with code, the no-code movement has given me a new lease of life and also a business opportunity.

To launch the service I built out a site using Dorik. Dorik is still in beta but I have to say that it's probably my favourite builder so far. The guys have done a great job.

There has been no public announcements (other than this one) and no promotion. I'm focusing on outreach, targeting businesses who are already using no-code platforms.

Let's see where it goes from here.

About

I've been a designer for over 15 years. From 2014 to 2019 I ran my SaaS. The change from designer to business owner helped me see a gap in the market for finding reliable designers. No Code By Design was born.
