Ghasmo
After a light switch caused our home fire, we built Ghasmo.
So as we worked with the governement the past months, they requested getting accreditation for the device from the ESMA, we had been ongoing testing for our unit in UL for about a month and finally we got certified.
The ESMA(Emirates standardization and metrology authority) published its final certification for our gas leak protector "Ghasmo".
We are proud of our hard work for over 2 years in R&D!

So we had a hard time within the 3 months of Corona hit, but eventually, everyone went online!
That was great, we were able to pitch it to some people whom meeting with them would have been harder in real life.
We were able to convince the government with our device and they were really excited for it, so we partnered together to inspect 500homes as a kick start in Sharjah emirate
We met several times and made a live workshop for the Sharjah government prevention and safety authority on how to inspect for gas leaks
We are glad that linkedin and zoom were invented!

So we decided to test our operations supply chain plans during these tough situation, we knew we must get to try how everything will work and we needed to have a small inventory on the current situation.
This caused us to do increase in the price of the device and to learn more on how to deal with our production plans issues, we fixed a lot of stuff on that trial orderings and we were fortunate to have Corona so we could test all of that with ease, instead of facing early customers with late deliveries if we were in normal conditions

Comment
So it is not always going on your wishes, this is what we faced with having the corona in the UAE.
We are no longer able to plan for meeting face to face or attend any exhibitions or tech shows. It is a real test, especially with limited funding. Hope we will survive

So we saw the huge interest in the UAE market, we decided to do it and register officially in the UAE, We are carrying a F&F funding and full of hopes, passion and dreams to make this a success story and surely to protect more lives.
Lets start this new chapter!

So we needed to meet international clients and showcase our prototypes, and what a better place for that than the international Stepconference.
It was an amazing experience, we kept standing day long on our feet because of the non-stop interest, we got 90% of our visitors to sign up

So finally, we sketched the new designs, I kept several nights up drawing and drawing, then for several weeks printing 3d units of every sketch, tested it, worked again on fixing its flaws and again reprinted till we were finally able to make the final MVP of a new design!

So after the 2nd prototype was done, we met online with several people, we pitched the device to them and they started giving us their comments like how the design must be changed because they can't install something that their visitors can see and the home owners would be ashamed of it.
Back to work!

So Now my unit is able not just to beep 3X louder, but Also to control an automatic shutdown motor, this motor can automatically close the gas handle in case of a gas leak.
The good thing is that it doesn't need dismantling of the gas pipes, as it can easily be attached above the gas handle and fix it around the gas pipes with a metal bar, that's it!
We also were able to develop a smarter microprocessor firmware that prevents the gas leaks

Comment
So the device has been in testing for several months, it is worked fine at first, but then it started showing false alarms!
So we need to rework on it again
It also doesn't have automation for safety, so we thought of lets working on that too.
I believe I should add a motor to make it shut the gas valve handle shut down automatically in case of a leak. However, this means redesigning everything from electronics to plastic casing.

About
In October 2017, we left home at 8 am When we came back at 4 pm, we switched on a light... and the home went on fire! We founded later that the main gas odometer had a leak & needed just a click to start a fire!
