May 11, 2026 Show IH: Ghosthide — A 100% Local-First Privacy Suite (No Server Uploads)

Since you are just starting out, your first post should be a "Show IH" (the Indie Hackers version of a launch). It needs to be punchy, humble, and technical enough to get developers interested.

Title: Show IH: Ghosthide — A 100% Local-First Privacy Suite (No Server Uploads)

Body:

Hi everyone,

I’m building Ghosthide because I’m tired of "privacy" tools that require you to upload sensitive documents to their servers.

Whether it’s redacting a PDF or scrubbing metadata from a photo, most online tools are "black boxes." You have no idea what happens to your data once it hits their cloud.

The Solution: I’ve built Ghosthide to be local-first. Using WASM and client-side logic, all processing happens in your browser’s RAM.

  • Ghost PDF: Permanent redaction (not just black boxes).

  • CleanSlate: Metadata/EXIF scrubbing.

  • Zero-Knowledge: No files ever touch my server.

Status: The landing page is live at ghosthide.lovable.app and I'm currently building the mobile version in Flutter.

I’m looking for feedback on the "Local-First" flow and any features you think are missing for a pro privacy workflow.

Excited to join the community! 👻
