Self-Hosted DevOps Platform for AI Agents

July 12, 2026 Gisia — a simple, lightweight, self-hosted DevOps platform your AI agent already knows how to use

Hi 👋

I've been building Gisia, an open-source, self-hosted DevOps platform for individual engineers and small teams.

Why I built it

I wanted a simple, lightweight, full DevOps tool. Most platforms force a trade-off: The others cover everything but is heavy and complex to run, while lighter tools only give you Git hosting and leave out the rest of the workflow. I believe a single engineer or a small team should get the whole loop — Git hosting, CI/CD, issues, merge requests, code review — from one lean app that starts with a single docker compose up and runs comfortably on a small server.

The twist: it's built for AI agents

Every Gisia project exposes a machine-readable skill file. Paste one URL into Claude Code, OpenClaw, or your own bot, and the agent learns how to clone, push, and manage issues and epics through the REST API. No plugin, no integration to install.

What's in it today

- Git repository hosting (SSH + HTTPS)

- CI/CD pipelines with YAML definitions and project/group-level runners

- Issues, epics, and labels

- Merge requests with inline diffs and comment threads

- Webhooks and code review notifications

Try it

It's free and open source. Setup is a few commands, check it out on: https://gisia.dev

A question for you: if you're using AI agents in your dev workflow, what do you wish your Git host could let the agent do?

The AI angle is interesting, but I think the bigger idea is making the development environment understandable by default.

If every project can explain itself to an AI agent without custom integrations, that changes how people onboard both humans and agents.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The skills URL on the new project has the index of the available info for agents, which is also can be customized by overriding the files in the repo like issues, epics or other files can be linked.

That’s useful context. I’d be interested in continuing the conversation beyond the thread — would you be open to sharing the best email to reach you on?

About

I want a simple, lightweight, full DevOps tool built for engineers. And since engineers increasingly work alongside AI agents, Gisia is agent-native from day onethrough the API — no plugins
