10K users to AI voice agents is a strong pivot. Curious — are you tracking cost per agent call? Voice APIs add up fast once you scale past the first few hundred users.

This is a textbook example of spotting a medium’s constraints and turning them into a product opportunity. The human-voice interface is high-leverage: it works cross-culture, builds trust, closes deals, but doesn’t scale. GlobCall’s pivot to AI voice agents solves that exact scaling problem while preserving the medium’s value. It’s not about replacing humans; it’s about extending their reach, handling timezone friction, multilingual gaps, and repetitive follow-ups. By bridging the “human touch” with automation, you get real ROI: more coverage, faster response, and the same quality conversations without extra headcount. This is exactly the type of high-leverage SaaS + AI play that scales naturally.

    Very interesting direction.

Many tech founders using tools like this are also building remote companies and sometimes consider relocating or expanding in Europe.

Portugal has been attracting many founders recently because of residency options for entrepreneurs and remote builders.

Curious — have you noticed more users coming from Europe since Skype shut down?

Really like the approach of building the calling infrastructure first before layering on AI. I work in lead gen and the voice side of things is still so underserved — most tools treat calls as an afterthought compared to form fills and chat. The bit about voice closing deals that chat can't is spot on, especially in trades/service businesses where the customer just wants to talk to a human before committing. 10K users across 40 countries is solid traction too. Curious how you're handling the pricing for the AI agent layer — per minute? Per agent?

  6. 1

Interesting evolution of the product. Building the infrastructure first and then adding the AI layer feels like a much stronger approach than the other way around.

  7. 1

The timing of catching the Skype shutdown wave is honestly impressive. That's the kind of distribution moment most founders miss entirely because they're not ready for it.

Curious about the pivot to AI voice agents though. Going from a relatively straightforward calling product to AI agents is a big technical jump. Are you worried about spreading too thin? The calling product already has real traction and a clear use case. AI voice agents is a space where well-funded companies are throwing massive resources.

The "human-phone interface is beautiful but doesn't scale" framing is compelling. I build mobile apps solo and I think about this a lot with features that work great for small user bases but break at scale. What's your approach to keeping voice quality consistent across all those countries while adding the AI layer on top?

  8. 1

This is a really interesting evolution. Starting from a simple calling tool and then discovering the bigger opportunity through real usage is exactly the kind of thing I find fascinating about building products.

  9. 1

10k users to AI voice agents is a fascinating pivot. The insight about "calls that don't need a human to make them" is the same pattern playing out across every communication channel right now.

I'm seeing the exact same thing with email. I run a food business across multiple universities — 100+ emails a day from vendors, campus contacts, staff. Most of those emails don't need me to compose a reply from scratch. They need a human to review and approve a reply. That's the gap.

Built a tool called Drafted that does this for email — AI pre-drafts every reply in your Gmail, you review and hit send. Same philosophy as your AI voice agents: the human is still in the loop for the important stuff, but the AI handles the prep work.

What's the conversion like from browser calling to the AI voice agent upsell? Curious if existing users adopt it or if it attracts a different customer profile entirely.

  10. 1

GlobCall is honestly exactly what you need when you're traveling or just need to call a real, physical phone number overseas without getting hit by insane carrier fees. The fact that it runs entirely out of your browser with zero app downloads or sketchy account setups is a massive win. They clearly know exactly what problem they are solving, especially since they call out legacy apps like Skype shutting down and position themselves as the perfect lightweight replacement. With rates starting at two cents a minute and pay-as-you-go credits that actually never expire, it’s a no-brainer to keep bookmarked for those times WhatsApp or FaceTime won't cut it because you have to call a bank, an embassy, or a customer service line.

  11. 1

The sequencing is what I respect most here — 10k users and real infrastructure before the AI layer. Most founders in 2026 are doing it backwards, starting with AI and hoping distribution follows. You already know which workflows people run so the AI layer has clear targets.

I'm building with the same philosophy in a different medium — email instead of voice. A Mac app called Drafted that uses AI to pre-draft Gmail replies in your voice but never sends them. Same core insight as your "the constraint is us" line. The channel is powerful, the bottleneck is human bandwidth, and AI handles the heavy lifting while humans keep final say.

Curious about the trust curve. When you go from "human makes the call" to "AI makes the call," do businesses want to listen to every AI call at first, or does trust build faster than expected?

  12. 1

GlobCall looks really compelling. Getting local numbers in 100+ countries and calling straight from the browser is a huge upgrade compared to traditional phone setups, especially for small remote teams. The mix of global coverage, no-seat pricing, and AI handling overflow calls makes it feel like something built for modern businesses instead of old-school call centers.

  13. 1

This is really Cool; the thing is that I’ve also been building a similar website and I stopped because most payment processors rejected it saying it was VoIP or something. But interestingly, Stripe accepts it, however, Stripe is not available in my country. great idea wishes you all the best.

  14. 1

“Something I’ve noticed: two startups with similar traction can get completely different reactions from investors depending on how the founder is perceived publicly.

Does anyone intentionally work on their authority/credibility as a founder?”

  15. 1

The sequencing here is what stands out most — you built real call infrastructure with 10k users across 40 countries before layering in AI, which is the opposite of what most founders do (bolt AI onto a product with no distribution and wonder why it doesn't stick). That existing user base is actually your biggest asset for the agent layer, because you already know which workflows people are running: collections, follow-ups, support — and those are exactly the use cases where latency tolerance is high enough for AI voice to work reliably. The MCP integration angle is clever too; letting AI assistants like Claude orchestrate calls via GlobCall's API could open up a developer-led growth motion that's hard for enterprise competitors to replicate quickly. One thing worth thinking through: how are you planning to handle cases where the AI agent encounters ambiguity mid-call — does it escalate to a live human, drop a voicemail, or retry? That handoff experience will likely determine whether business users trust it with high-stakes calls like collections or not.

  16. 1

The timing on this is perfect honestly. Skype dying left a gap and the fact that 10k people found you just from that tells you the demand is real.

The AI voice agent pivot is smart too. Every small business I talk to wants 24/7 phone support but can't afford hiring for it. Browser-based with no hardware is a huge selling point for that market.

How are you thinking about pricing for the AI agent layer? Per-minute vs flat rate seems like the big decision there.

  17. 1

Game changer can be automatic voice traductor, maybe it's in your roadmap ?

  18. 1

That's really interesting. I'm curious about what made you pursue this idea in the first place, did you build it because Skype was shutting down?

  19. 1

10k users before adding AI is actually the most interesting part of this. Building something people already use before layering AI on top feels like the right order.

Curious what the biggest use case for the voice agents is turning out to be so far.

  20. 1

Hey, I like this. Does it have apis, Can we integrate glob calls into an enterprise system like a CRM?

  21. 1

Congrats, this is a competitive market. But you got your fans. I’m curious, what did your distribution strategy look like to get that initial traction

  22. 1

Really interesting product. The hardest part of launching any communication tool is getting that first set of users to trust it with something as critical as calls.
Curious how you are handling the cold start problem - are you targeting a specific niche first or going broad?
Also the landing page is clean. What stack are you running on?

  23. 1

This is a really smart evolution, brano. The line that stuck with me: "The medium is extraordinary. The constraint is us." That's exactly right , the phone call as a medium hasn't lost its power, but humans can't scale it.

10k users off the back of Skype's shutdown is a solid signal. People were clearly looking for something simpler.

The AI voice agent layer feels like the right next step. Outbound support in six time zones without six teams , that's the kind of leverage businesses actually need.

I'm building in a similar space but different angle , FontPreview.online helps designers test fonts with their own text, check licenses, and analyze brand personality. Same idea: tools that scale what humans do, but keep the judgment human.

Quick question: for the AI voice agents, how are you handling the "uncanny valley" problem? People are surprisingly sensitive to when a voice feels almost human but not quite. Curious how you're navigating that.

  24. 1

wow. this is the smart way to make a living

  25. 1

Have you ever felt like your company is doing well but people still don’t take you seriously yet?

I’m starting to think perception plays a much bigger role in founder success than we admit.”

  26. 1

Voice is still one of the most powerful communication channels, and combining it with AI agents opens up some really interesting possibilities. A quick visual demo showing an AI voice agent placing a call and handling a real conversation could be very compelling for new users. I help startups turn products like this into short launch videos that make the value clear quickly, so if you’re planning a bigger push for GlobCall I’d be glad to help.

    1. 1

Hey Abhijit, thanks for comment. Do you have some portofliopage or examples I can check? The launch video idea sounds good!

      1. 1

Sure i will love to share my previous clients work. Can we connect over LinkedIn /twitter or WhatsApp so that i can share or email work as well

  27. 1

Really nice breakdown. Curious — how did you get your first users?

    1. 1

I play a longterm "SEO game", so users come to page "naturaly" and it should compound in the longrun. Then I just need to convert them once they're on page - that is easier part, I guess 😇
