Lifetime deals were easy to sell, both via affiliates and our own PPC campaigns. But we couldn't maintain realistic FOMO if we were always going to run a lucrative lifetime deal. Plus MRR is the holy grail for us. I knew it was a bit early for us to switch to an MRR model as our product needed a lot of work. But we tried, and not to my surprise, PPC did not scale, we just signed up tonnes of free users. 😕
