Belongings Organizer App
After realizing writing all of ideas has outgrown notes app, I've decided to switch to some proper tools.
I've decided to go with Jira and Confluence, both made by Atlassian.
Jira is one of the best agile project management tools in the business. And what's awesome, it's free for up to 10 users!
It can be expanded by Confluence, which I use for brainstorming and writing documentation.
It's very easy to set up a Kanban board in Jira, and start adding tasks.
I'm creating a new task for each feature and every other non-development thing I need to do.
For planning app versions, I create a new Epic for each version (e.g. 1.0, 1.1...). Using Roadmap functionality, it's easy to make time-based release plans for each Epic. I also have a separate Epic called Triage where I put everything I might do in the future.
There is also a Backlog functionality, which I use to separate tasks for the next version from everything else. Right now, all tasks for the 1.0 version are in the Board, and everything else is in the Backlog. So when I open the Kanban board, I can only see 1.0 tasks.
Jira has integration with git hosting tools like Bitbucket, GitHub and GitLab. It's easy to reference tasks in branches, commits and PRs. You just add the Jira task ID in the branch name and commit messages, and that's it!
Because of my personal preference, for git hosting tool, I've decided to go with GitHub.
After putting all of my initial ideas to Jira and Confluence, I felt very relieved. It's also a very scalable solution, so I think it's worthwhile to start you project with a help of proper project management tooling.
At the end of 2020, I felt like it's finally the time to start investing more learning time into SwiftUI.
I wanted to start safe, so I've started watching SwiftUI Basics Tutorial by Sean Allen. After finishing the whole tutorial, I realised the best way to continue learning it would be to create something.
I thought about what would be something I would use right now. I remembered how I have some stuff in the basement, and I have no idea what is there (even though I had moved in the new apartment less than a year ago). So, I've decided to create some small inventory app.
As it goes every time I get an idea, I couldn't sleep because ideas of possible features, how would I build it and so were just pilling up. So I got out of the bed, opened the notes app on my phone and wrote down everything what was in my mind.
