If the mantra of sales is "always be closing", the mantra of marketing is surely "always be interesting".
When the ever-impressive @patwalls sent me an automated email asking me what I'm working on, I made sure that my reply was interesting.
In a few sentences, I tried to let Pat know that I have things to say that'd capture the interest of his audience... in particular those in his audience who might be considering crowdfunding.
And I tried to let him know that I'm able to communicate these things in a way that'd keep his audience's interest right to the end of the story.
The result?
