I did start ups before where I was the sole owner and employed and contracted to many people including software development. This time around I wanted to do things differently. I wanted a team to help, so there were more people with ideas, more people to solve problems and do the work. Also, whilst I'm quite technical I'm not a full stack developer and I needed the technical skills.

I wish I'd know about Indie Hackers but I used other sites to attract my co-founder and brought on board a psychologist, a designer, a marketer and two developers, both full stack but one for the front end and one for the back end.

It took a while with interviews and everything and also negotiating share options. But that's pretty much done now and we';re starting our journey.

Its great having a team but its very different trying to move everyone along at the same pace, to achieve the vision. Creating consensus is hard at times, but I think we'll get there.

We're building a test app in our first sprint. It won't deliver anything other than get our processes in place and some of the infrastructure.

Before building the app we are also developing a methodology and this is taking a bit of time. The method is needed before we can design the first MVP, though we have a good idea now of what that is.

Also the name isn't fixed. I started out with SoPlan.me, now its Plan.me but a better domain name is GoPlan.me. We wanted something that would focus on the outcome of the app, but probably will end up with something like "plan" that describes the process or what it does.
