Turn your customers into influencers
We just launched our Beta for goshare (https://beta.goshare.at), a SaaS-based tool which gets customers sharing about why they love your business by rewarding Instagram posts with competitions, discounts & freebies. The first post I made was on a Facebook Group about Messenger Bots (Manychat Community) to see if anyone would be interested in the Beta.
In seconds I had people commenting, non-stop for an hour and managed to get our first sign-ups for the beta - woo! Manychat decided to take it down after the hour⦠frustrating but I managed to get into the DMs of everyone that commented š
Hereās what I think made the difference:
Personalised video - I didnāt just post a link to our landing page. I made a quick video for the post which showed a goshare page working within Messenger.
Catchy headline - the title of the post was āGive rewards to customers posting on Instagram inside messenger šā in boldā¦
Clear CTA - I finished the post with āAnyone interested?ā, this made it relatively clear that people should comment on the post, the more engagement on the post the more it would appear on peoples timelines etc. I also avoided something like āComment on this postā as I think this negatively impacts
Didnāt include a link - again I was concerned about this impacting FB algorithms, instead, I included a link in the comments
Hereās how Iād improve it next time:
Personalised DMs - After about 40 minutes Iād hit the FB limit and been blocked from sending any more dms (I had been replying to everyone who commented on there). I had been personalising the first name but next time I wouldnāt include a link in the first message to try and stop this from happening.
Avoid the post being taken down - next time Iād make the post more subtle, asking advice about how to use the goshare bot in messenger, or something else that might stop the Manychat admins from realising it was a promotional postā¦
Plug time š - If anyone is interested in our Beta you can create a goshare page in about 30 seconds which lets you instantly reward your customers for sharing on Insta. Completely free whilst on Beta š
Myself and 2 friends went to a Hackathon. We had a list of 5 products that we could build and we decided to focus on getmuffin.co.uk, a tool which allowed restaurants and bars to reward customers posting on Instagram.
We designed and built the app in 8 hours. Afterwards, we thought the idea had legs and started looking into turning it into a real business.

Looks awesome. For me, I almost signed up because the design on the rewards looked amazing. I really like the tickets, etc. Felt special.
I ultimately didn't sign up, because my products don't have an Instagram. At this time, sharing photos on Instagram isn't in our marketing plans (though, once I figure out how to connect the dots there, I will).
What I wanted / was looking for: Ability to create a Facebook or Twitter campaign and offer an Amazon gift card as the contest prize.
Haha glad you liked the design! I built the landing page using landen.co, such a good tool for a non-techy like myself.
We are looking to branch out to other social networks soon, what would you like your customers to do? I presume post a tweet/make a FB post?
Yes, a post/tweet and then are in the running for a prize.
Added to the suggestions! We will be focusing on Instagram initially but will start on things like this soon. If you want to keep up to date new releases we made this fb group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/466704157513634/
Looks cool. How do you prevent people from just getting the reward and then deleting their post?
Good point! We're building new features to get around this for example a delayed reward option which only gives the reward once the post has been live for 24 hours.
Also, the "Competition" reward type removes any user from the competition if they delete
Yeah, for the competition reward there is no problem.
I was thinking more about the discount because I encountered the situation before and it isn't easy to solve. I understand the fact that users want it as soon as possible but after they have redemed it they have no incentive to keep the post up. I am interested in future updates about this, let us know ;)
Exactly, it's one of the reasons we want to trial it with other types of businesses, like e-commerce, as a £20 off voucher is good for the customer even if they only receive it 24 hours later!
