GoVia
Track your marketing effectiveness online and off
For GoVia, I've decided to focus on SEO and content to drive traffic, which means building out content. 😄
Today I've published my first guide - a beginners guide to understanding UTM parameters .
Two more in the works, to be published over the next couple of weeks.
The 3 key features of GoVia will be UTM tagging of URLs, link shortening and QR code generation. A week ago I launched the basic UTM tag builder and this week I've added QR code generation.
My goal is to provide the core functionality for free, and provide more powerful tools in the paid-for version, and I'm now working on an advanced UTM tag builder, which will enable you to tag multiple URLs at once, prompt you with frequently used tags to ensure consistent tagging, and offer standard templates to provide 1-click tag building. Once that's done it will be on to advanced QR Code generation, with support for customising the colour and style, adding your logo, and more. Some of these features will make it back in to the free version too, to make that more useful to people. :-)

I launched a new side-project GoVia today and, having launched a couple that got some traction but no revenue, I'm taking a new approach. Rather than spend months building out a full set of functionality and then launching, I'm going to launch with a very minimal MVP and add to it regularly until there's enough value to make it worth someone paying for it.
I'm starting with a simple utility to build links with UTM tags. Adding UTM tags to links is critical if you want to understand where your website traffic is coming from. Although their adoption was initially driven by their use in Google Analytics, they are now supported by most (if not all) of Google Analytics' competitors, including the privacy-friendly ones.
On the roadmap is an advanced UTM tag builder, that will let you tag multiple URLs at once, taking the tedium out of manually creating tagged URLs for every platform you publish content on.
Then I'll be adding link shortening (as UTM tags can sometimes be stripped or replaced by websites), QR code generation (for offline marketing) and advanced features to support agencies.
