Gratuity Calculator UAE
An online end of service gratuity calculator for UAE expats
Hi everyone,
I recently launched a small side project called Gratuity Calculator UAE. It’s a free web tool that helps employees in the UAE (especially expats) calculate their end-of-service gratuity using the official MOHRE rules.
The motivation came from hearing so many stories of colleagues and friends struggling to figure out what they’re actually entitled to at the end of their contracts. Most calculators online were outdated, confusing, or didn’t cover both limited and unlimited contracts. I wanted to make something that was simple, accurate, and accessible for anyone.
Right now, it’s live here: https://calculategratuityuae.com
I’d love your feedback on two things:
As indie hackers, what would you do to spread the word about a tool like this without being spammy?
Longer term, do you think a free niche tool like this should stay completely free, or explore small monetization options like ads, partnerships, or related services?
Happy to answer any questions about how I built it, the challenges with UAE labor law, or anything else.
Looking forward to learning from you all.
