Learnings:
- Negative comments about the list not being relevant, need to gather more data to ensure the list's accuracy.
- Few users understood that the list was based on user generated input. Need to make that clearer.
- Few users signed up for account and submitted votes. Will implement a clearer CTA and add Google Signup to streamline the registration process and reduce barriers to signing up.
Happy to share a new project that I’ve been working on.
Groundhop(gogroundhop.com) - is Your Guide To The World's Football Stadiums.
It helps you find the destination for your next football trip based on your budget and personal preferences. Sort of TripAdvisor or Nomadlist but for football fans! It's fed by crowdsourced data contributed by users.
My goal for this project is to gather all the important information you need to plan a football trip such as:
- 🎫 How to get tickets for popular games
- 💰 Ticket price information
- 🗺 Travel directions (how easy is it to get to the stadium)
- 🏨 Recommendations on where to stay if you are travelling abroad.
- 🍻 Great bars and other activities near the stadium.
Along with useful tips and recommendations from other fans.
I coded, designed and built Groundhop using Ruby on Rails with Tailwind, and sprinkles of JavaScript, Stimulus JS and Vue.
I've built websites before using PHP and WordPress, but this is by far the largest and most challenging project that I've worked on as a solo developer, and it's been a really fun and interesting project this far. I've learned a lot.
