November 22, 2021 Onwards and upwards for Growpay

Since my last update, I have been able to form additional strategic partnerships with Square, BigCommerce, Wise, Squarespace, Zeller and Revolut Business. This has been great validation as it shows that payment and ecommerce providers are interested in my type of service and are willing compensate me in order to help them acquire merchants.

More payment providers are now starting to reach out to me organically and have asked to have their product featured/listed on the Growpay platform. I will soon look at charging a monthly subscription to these providers, to help keep the business afloat.

Separately, I have redesigned the website and structured it in a way that will make it easier for me to track what users are doing across the website. This information will help me make better business decisions, provide a more personalised customer experience and discover the latest payment trends.

I also decided to make business owners sign up in order to use my service. Whilst I understand this will impact my conversion rates and bounce rates, in time it will assist me in understanding the types of businesses I'm attracting to my website.

My focus moving forward is to really spend time creating content that targets the right audience & building out a business first community group. I am currently using Reddit, but may consider changing this to a Slack community group, making it easier for other businesses to connect with each other.

Let me know your thoughts and whether you have any feedback :)

November 8, 2021 Update on Growpay -

It's becoming increasingly evident that businesses are struggling to navigate the payments industry and understand which payment provider is right for them.

Common questions that I keep getting asked from business owners..

Which payment provider is better?
Which payment providers integrates with X?
Which payment providers accept cryptocurrency?
Which payment providers integration with X accounting software?

In contrast, new existing payment providers have been reaching out to me to either get listed, explore advertising or content opportunities or to learn more about my service.

I'm trying to decide whether I should get users to log-in first in order to access the payments directory. What are you thoughts?

October 25, 2021 85+ payment products listed and still growing

Hi Indiehackers, I have now listed 85+ payment and ecommerce products on Growpay (www.growpay.co).

Strategic payment partners such as Square have been onboarded onto the platform. They are needing help with increasing their market share globally.

In addition, a number of payment providers have reached out to me directly asking whether they can be included on the directory. I'm also starting to get VC interest which can be seen as a positive sign.

Website traffic is continuing to grow organically MoM. This has mainly been driven by people searching for Growpay directly or seeing a blog post that I wrote.

More updates to follow.

September 19, 2021 Soft launch MVP - Payments directory

Hi Indiehackers, I have recently launched my MVP (www.growpay.co) using Pory x Airtable - a no-code builder. Feedback so far has been positive from both businesses and payment providers all around the world.

My mission is simple, to connect merchants to the world's best payment experiences.

With the rise of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), QR codes, contactless payments, 1-Click checkout & login, Open Banking and more, it's becoming increasingly more difficult to navigate the complex world of payments. To combat this, I have created the world's first payments directory for merchants.

Whilst this is only the beginning of my journey, I look forward to connecting and updating you on my progress.

If you have any questions or would like to recommend any suitable providers, do reach out.

    Looks great man!!

I'm also thinking about building a directory with more than 1000 records.

I'm not sure about using no code tools or go with Wordpress site + theme

Thoughts? What's your experience so far?

      Thanks, really appreciate it.

I guess it depends on type of functionality you require. Pory X Airtable has been great and doesn't require much of a learning curve. New features are being rolled out each month and Pory's customer support team are fantastic. It can also easily handle more than 1,000 records.

WordPress will offer you more customisation and is great for SEO but will most likely cost you more long-term, especially if you require dev help and assistance.
