May 9, 2022 I started with the product and failed. This time, I'll do different.

In my last startup I focused on building the product first. It failed.

So I'll do things differently now. Here's my to-do list:

✅ Create an Indie Hackers product page
✅ Create a LinkedIn page
⏹️ Create a Twitter page and a Tiktok page
✅ Start collecting emails for interested users.
⏹️ Share the MVP first with super-early-adopters, then with the world
⏹️ Start producing content on the niche on 3 social networks
⏹️ Join related communities (Indie Hackers, Slack Groups, etc)
⏹️ Cold email/DM users in the niche for feedback + measure interest

There's no better training than failing. So now I'll promote first, build later.

Also where are you planning to do cold outreach? Twitter? LinkedIn? anywhere else?

What are you doing with the emails you are collecting? Wouldn't they get stale till the time your build your MVP?

How are you thinking about MVP? How much of it are you building? I'm trying to figure this out for myself :)

May 6, 2022 Starting with Marketing

I built my last startup product-first.

It failed.

So now, I'm going to do things first.

I'll start by promoting the concept, the idea, the MVP, and get interest. And this will give the basis for the big launch day. And hopefully it'll compound into a nice, juicy growth engine!
