Product Hunters are a good market for this product, given most products should be checking in early with new users, so I decided to soft launch there to see how the reaction was, if I had my messaging right, and if there was a general interest in the product.

After showing the tool to friends, I kept getting the sense that this could be useful for others. So, the day after thanksgiving I started externalizing the code and building an api that other apps could communicate with. It took a couple days, then I got distracted by holiday travel.

I didn’t write the code at first to ge an independent product. It was meant to help me collect feedback from people using a different product I made (Kit.fyi). But this was around the time I started writing the code to handle the basic survey email and response.
