GuyID
The trust layer for dating.
Dating apps verify photos, not people.
You match, you chat, and then you just hope the person is who they say they are. That uncertainty exists on both sides of every first date — and nothing in the current dating stack solves it.
Background checks feel invasive. Bios are self-reported. There's no credible middle ground.
So I built GuyID.
What it does
Users voluntarily verify their identity through a government ID check, collect vouches from people who know them, and build a Trust Tier — a shareable profile they can send to a match before meeting in person.
Real signal, before the meetup. Free to use.
How it works
Identity verification is powered by Didit — IDs are checked, never stored. Built on React + Supabase + Stripe.
Where I'm at
Solo founder, bootstrapped, no investors. I spent the last three months building the product and content infrastructure before flipping the switch. Launched this week.
This is a new category — consent-based dating trust verification. Nobody is searching for it yet, which means the real work now is education and distribution.
Would love feedback from anyone who has tackled trust, safety, or verification in consumer apps — or anyone who has navigated building in a category that doesn't exist yet.
About
Dating apps verify photos, not people. GuyID lets men voluntarily verify their identity and share a trust profile with matches — the missing layer between matching and meeting.
