After receiving a plethora of feedback and feature requests following the initial release of HabitKit, I decided to combine external and internal user feedback and selected three key features to implement in the coming weeks. Many users, myself included, expressed a desire for a streak system, so that is my primary focus. This system will enable users to set goals for their habits and track their progress in the form of streaks based on successful habit completion. Seeing a streak of consecutive days in which a habit has been successfully completed can be incredibly motivating and encourage users to maintain the streak, ultimately helping them to develop a consistent routine and achieve their goals.
In addition to the streak system, I am also implementing a reminders feature to help users stay on track. We all know that it can be easy to forget about small habits, but with the ability to set reminders, users will be less likely to miss a habit completion.
Finally, I am working on incorporating iOS 14 home screen widgets. Many users enjoy the tile-based grid displaying their past habit completions, and they have requested the ability to see this information on their home screens. By implementing home screen widgets, I am making this wish a reality.
These three features represent the most highly requested improvements for HabitKit, and I am committed to bringing them to fruition over the coming weeks.
